NEWS: FALL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE 2017 – District 5 Update @ Sept 30th, 2017

Posted by in Kin5

From District 5 Governor Anita:

Good Morning Fellow Kin

As many of you know the registrations for FLC have been extremely slow coming in and unfortunately that meant the our option for the Giggle Dam for Saturday night was no longer available to us because as we all know business is business and they had to accept a paid group of 100 over our tentative booking.

GOOD NEWS

All attendees will be bused to join the Ladner/Tswwassen Kinsmen club as they host there annual Crab and Corn Extravaganza Fundraiser. What better way to have fellowship than to join another club in a great project. The cost of this event is $35.00 plus transportation which will still be covered by the registration.
(For those with food allergies we will address this)

MORE GOOD NEWS

The $140.00 cost for FLC registration will NOT go up. The host club has agreed to keep the early bird price for all registrants right up until the day of.

THE AGENDA – YOU ASKED

The Education at FLC has been in the planning stages for months and adjusted just as many times and we, as your executive, want it to be fun, informative and timely for District 5.

Guest speakers include Alysen Cox from the Cystic Fibrosis Vancouver Chapter and Nancy Lear, Peer Network Facilitator for BCITS

Education will include Club Health, Communication, District Service Project Stand Up for Charity, Ladder of Inference, Making Stress Your Friend as well as the ever dreaded FORMS section.

To date we are still awaiting information from National so the formal agenda is only in draft format.

We truly hope this addresses any concerns you have regarding FLC and we do apologize for any disappointment that may have arisen due to the changes but things happen and we roll with it.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS AND TRULY DO THE BEST WE CAN

Yours In Kin
